A Cafe and Bistro that supports learning outside of traditional classrooms!

Today’s Tip Poll Question:

Tuesday, April 17, 2007 -- Do you think that yesterday’s shootings at Virginia Tech will result in harsher gun laws in the U.S.?

Cast your vote by coming into the Cherry and leaving your spare change in either the ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ cup!

While many of us are still in bed the youth at the cafe are busy scanning the morning headlines looking for interesting questions or topical issues which are then posted in the form of a yes no question. The daily question is displayed next to the cash register with two tip jars. Patrons are encouraged to “vote” with their tip money. The results are posted in the café the following day. It has proven to be a fun and creative way of sparking conversation and thought. The morning coffee gets the body going…the tip questions engages the mind.

All tips are returned to the community through youth scholarships and educational bursaries.
